Mr. Vasilije Antic

Obituary

Vasilije (Bill) Antic, 97, of Keswick, Ontario, passed away on April 8, 2024 at Southlake Regional Heathcare Centre with his daughter by his side. Vasilije was born on January 8, 1927 to Nikodija and Persida Antic in Serbia. Surviving World War II, Vasilije made his way through many trials and tribulations to arrive in Canada in 1951 with $40 in his pocket. In Canada, he worked during the day and put himself through school in the night. Through perseverance and hard work Vasilije obtained a Masters Degree from University of Toronto. The highlight of his career was with Centennial College from its inception in 1966 to 1992 as a Professor and Chairman when he retired at the age of 65. In retirement he and his wife enjoyed spending time at their cottage on Crystal Lake with their family and grandchildren fishing, boating and enjoying the peaceful nature of the area. Vasilije was predeceased by his wife Sina Antic and is survived by his only daughter Barbara Antic (Bill Meadowcroft), grand children Kyle Antic-Price and Evan Antic-Price and nephews Paul List and Victor List (Cindi). Visitation will be held at Cardinal Funeral Home 366 Bathurst Street, Toronto, Ontario M5T 2X6 on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will start at Cardinal Funeral home, move to St. Vladimir's Cathedral, 404 Bathurst Street, Toronto and end at York Cemetery, 160 Beecroft Road, Toronto for burial. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Canadian Red Cross.
