Obituary

It is with deepest heartache we announce that after a brave battle with colon cancer our beloved Christine (Chrystia) Densmore passed away at Credit Valley Hospital on Sunday, October 18, 2020 on her 34th wedding anniversary.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Loving wife of Joseph Densmore, devoted daughter of the late Osyp and Anastasia Dorosz and adored daughter in law of the late Patrick and Marie Densmore.                                                                                                                                                                                                              Dear sister of Anna(Orest) Chachula, Romka(late Jerry) Najduk, Kathryn(late Jean-Claude) Tanguay, Larry(Valerie) Densmore and John(Suzanne) Densmore. Cherished Aunt of Lida(Spain), Michael, Joey, Paul, Matthew(Cindy), Nicholas(Angie), Renai(John), Colleen(Chris), Lawren, Derek(Luisa), Brent(Lauren) and Great Aunt to many.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Christine started at Loblaw Co. as a part time cashier and worked her way up to the corporate office where she was with the company for over 40 years until her retirement in 2014. She has many friends who will remember her warm gentle smile, sense of humour and generosity. Christine successfully balanced her career with her love for family, her loyal pets “Rocco” (late Smokey, Riley and Coco) travel and the cottage. She was a world class baker and home chef. Born in Toronto; Muskoka was her favorite spot followed closely by Aruba and Las Vegas; her golden triangle.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                We Love you Christine and we know you are at peace. We will miss you forever, until we are united again. In Christine’s memory “be honest and do the right thing” and be kind.                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Vichnaya Pamyat! – May her Memory be Eternal!

Joe, I am sending my deepest sympathy to you and your extended family. I have such wonderful memories of Chis as I think back to a time when I worked her. She was a kindhearted and giving person. Chris was concerned about everyone she worked with and always there to help. All of her work friends loved her smile and desire make everyone happy and comfortable. Chris always amazed me with her delicious cakes she would share at each of the celebrations and happy events. We will all miss her and are grateful for having her in our lives. Dear Joe, Like many of us in the neighbourhood we were surprised and saddened by the news of Chris' passing. Chris and yourself were one of the first couples to welcome us to the neighbourhood and make us feel comfortable here - and then we discovered her baking! We hope all your wonderful memories will get you through this difficult time. Our heartfelt condolences - Dave and Monique

Joe, We are so very sorry for your loss. Chris was such a lovely friend who always made us feel so welcome. We loved playing games at the cottage, especially scrabble with both of you. She loved being up there and told me she would come home in November with flip flops on! We can't imagine what you're going through Joe and hope you can cherish all the wonderful memories of Chris. She will be greatly missed! Much love Doug and Cindy xo

Dear Joey - we are all so heartbroken to hear about Chris’s passing. While we are far away and sadly not able to be with you in person, please know that you and yours are in our thoughts, in our prayers, and in our hearts. The beautiful relationship that you shared with Christine was so full of Love and light, and was an inspiration to all of us. I think back to the few times I had the pleasure of meeting Chris, and it brings a smile to my face - her memory will certainly live on! Stay strong, my friend; I can only begin to imagine how difficult this time is for you, and if there is one thing I know about Chris it is that she would want us all to continue to celebrate memories, and life, hers and yours too. Know that you have friends all over the World who Love you so much, and that you are in our hearts during this time. Sending you Love, Light, and Hugs. Karan, Rashmi, Sunil, Minal & Rakesh.

My heartfelt condolences to Joe and the family. I had the privilege of working with Chris for several years. She was the store process expert, the go-to person for many of us. So many memories of Chris are vivid in my mind. Her stories about her dog, cruises, baking, family and beliefs were a delight to listen to. The delicious cakes and cookies. The inside jokes and laughs about the fan, and my fashion ignorance. Oh! the Burberry incident (hopefully she forgave me). In shock and disbelief. Miss ya Chris.

I am so sorry to hear of Chris’s passing. I worked with Chris at Loblaws both in the stores and in the office. We were both Customerservice (Head cashiers) at the same time. I am sorry not to be able to attend but with covid restrictions I feel it is better I stay away. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
