Obituary
Diega Romano was born in Racalmuto, Sicily on January 23rd, 1925 where she lived for 50 years. God called Diega peacefully on August 3, 2021, at the age of 96, she is now reunited with her predeceased husband Salvatore Restivo Pantalone who passed away in 2006. Diega is cherished by her dear stepchildren, Joe, Ralph, Rosa, Charlie, Carmen, Maria and Grace (predeceased). Diega was always a proud Nonna to the many grandchildren who she cared for deeply. Diega courageously married and provided companionship to our then widowed father Salvatore in 1975 at the age of 50 and was a welcomed addition to the family. She managed her new instant family of 7 children and endeared herself to all of us. The grandchildren, as they came quickly, learned about Nonna’s dignity, generosity and warm heart, for this reason and so many more she is already greatly missed.
Beginning July 16, 2021 the Bereavement Authority of Ontario is once again permitting visitations and services to take place that are open to the public. We must continue to maintain physical distancing, the wearing of masks and may not allow more than 50 guests at any one time. Once the maximum limit has been reached, we will ask any additional guests to kindly wait outside in a physically-distanced line until there is room to enter safely. Church capacity if also reduced and the funeral mass time has not been disclosed in order ensure seating for family, the cemetery has no capacity restrictions outdoors permitted that there is physical distancing between attendees.
