It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Halyna Bonk. Halyna was born in Velyka Plavucha, Ternopil, Ukraine – the daughter of Ivan and Tekla Lesiw. In 1948, Halyna immigrated to Canada with her parents and married John Bonk (deceased) in 1950. She was lovingly devoted to her family and raised three children, Lydia (Oleh – deceased) Bendiuha, Roman (Lesia) Bonk, Myron (Jane) Bonk. Baba will be missed by her grandchildren, Tanya (Chris Hartin) Bendiuha, Mark Bendiuha, Christina (Chris) Botticella, Anastasia (Frank) Pacheco, Mathew and Nicholas Bonk, and great grandchildren Alexander and Arianna Hartin. Halyna was a successful business person and held many leadership roles within the Ukrainian community. She embraced her life in Canada while remaining a Ukrainian patriot.
