MYCYK, Helen (nee. Leschuk) – Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 16th, 2016 at the age of 90 surrounded by her loving family. Born February 10th, 1926 in the village of Korchiv, Ukraine. Arrived in Canada December 1938. Predeceased by her loving husband Modest Daniel, mother Paulina Matvieyko, father Joseph Leschuk, stepmother Anastasia Slobodian, sister Katrusia Romanish. Beloved mother to Taras (Anna Melnyk), Marta (Walter Burych), Stephen (Mary Doell), Chrystia (Mike Kolberg), Irene (Orest Kostruba). Cherished grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Survived by her brother Bohdan Leschuk (Olya). Long time member of the Ukrainian Women’s Organization. Visitation will be held at Cardinal Funeral Home, 92 Annette St. (just east of Keele) on Monday, March 21st from 2-4 and 6 – 9 p.m. Panakhyda at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at St. Josaphat’s Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 143 Franklin Ave. on Tuesday, March 22nd at 10 a.m. Internment will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery (Bloor and Prince Edward).
