On Sunday, June 19, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Iris peacefully passed away at the age of 81. The fierce love, dedication and pride she felt for her children and grandchildren will live in us always. Forever she will be in our hearts. Resting at the Cardinal Funeral Home, 92 Annette St. on Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. with Panakhyda at 7:30 p.m. Funeral mass to be held at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Holy Protection, 30 Leeds St. on Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Prospect Cemetery.Visitation

We extend our heartfelt & sincere condolences to Iris' family on the passing of a wonderful mother, grandmother & friend. She was a wonderful, caring & inspiring woman. Her warmth, energy & compassion was instantaneously evident and explained how she successfully accomplished so many great things, We know how very proud she was of her children and grandchildren. The way she raised her family was an inspiration to those who knew her. You must feel so blessed to have had such an incredibly loving mother. We also were blessed to have had a friendship with her and our sincere admiration for her will never wane. After visiting with Pani Demkiw, my sister and I always left with the same thought "What a lovely person". We feel a great sorrow as a wonderful person has departed this life. She will be greatly missed & we will always remember her with a smile.
Rest in peace Pani Demkiw.
