Obituary

Jaroslawa Sadowyj passed away peacefully in her 86th year at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Toronto, on Friday, May 16th, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind in deep sorrow her two daughters, Maria (Wolodymyr) Dacko, Annette (Ted) Antkow, six grandchildren – Christian (Gloria) , Andrei (Brandi), Natalie (Cameron), Lesya (Brad), Christina (Jason) and Ivanka (Justin), and nine great-grandchildren – Olivia, Aleksandra, Lucas, Thomas, Frances, Noah, Annanoelle, Kiara and Alyssa. Predeceased by her husband, Nicholas, in 2007. Jaroslawa was born on April 14, 1928, in Chodachkiv, Ternopil, Ukraine. She fled oppression in Ukraine as a young woman and worked in labour camps in Germany where she was married and later moved to France. In 1951, Jaroslawa and Nicholas emigrated to Canada with their two young daughters, seeking a better life. Jaroslawa worked hard all her life, providing the best she could for her family. She was a devoted, loving and generous mother, Babtsia and Bunia. She was a devout member of her Ukrainian Catholic Church and sang in the church choir for many years. She gave generously to charities, especially to her beloved countrymen in Ukraine, and supported the many causes and needs there. May angels escort her soul to the place in heaven reserved for her, where there is no more suffering and pain, only life eternal! VICHNA PAMYAT’ ETERNAL MEMORY
