Obituary

Joan (Joann) Elaine Gauthier (nee Frederick) - March 8, 1942 - April 22, 2022. Devoted wife of Ronald. Beloved sister of Alan. Loving mother of Rebecca (Simon), Rachel (Don), Laura, Leah, Charles (Fiona), and Gabrielle (Travis). Cherished “Ninny” of 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Family and friends will always remember Joann’s infectious laughter, warm heart, love of animals, nature, and black coffee, and refusal to be seen without her lips or eyebrows on. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Diabetes Canada or the Alzheimer Society of Ontario. A private celebration of Joann’s life will be planned in the future.

"Take My Hand, Precious Lord" - Elvis Presley (original lyrics by Thomas A. Dorsey)

Precious Lord, take my hand

Lead me on, let me stand

I'm tired, I'm weak, I'm worn

Through the storm, through the night

Lead me on to the light

Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home

When my way grows drear precious Lord linger near

When my light is almost gone

Hear my cry, hear my call

Hold my hand lest I fall

Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home

When the darkness appears and the night draws near

And the day is past and gone

At the river I stand

Guide my feet, hold my hand

Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home

Precious Lord, take my hand

Lead me on, let me stand

I'm tired, I'm weak, I'm worn

Through the storm, through the night

Lead me on to the light

Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
