Iwanylo, Katherine Passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, March 8, 2014 in her 88th year. Katherine, predeceased by her husband Roman. Loving mother of Diane (Walter) and Orest. Beloved grandmother of John, Christina and Paul. Survived by her brother Slavko Gural and family. The Iwanylo family would like to thank Dr. Babiuk and the staff of the Ukrainian Canadian Care Centre for their compassion and care. Katherine was born in Ukraine and emigrated to Canada residing in Lachine, Quebec; St. Catherines and Burlington, Ontario. Visitation to be held at the Ukrainian Canadian Care Centre, 60 Richview Road, Toronto on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 4 – 8 p.m. with Panakhyda at 6 p.m. Funeral service to be held at the Centre on Wednesday, March, 12, 2014 at 10 am. Burial to follow at St. Volodymyr Cemetery, Oakville, Ontario. Donations in memory of Katherine may be made to the Ukrainian Canadian Care Centre, Toronto, Ontario. Dear Diane and family,
A mother's love is unconditional and eternal. I feel for you and your family at this time of loss and grief. I pray that you will rejoice in the knowledge that your Mom is in a place where there is no pain, no suffering. Her love lives within each and everyone of you, as it did to this day, as it will eternally. Let this knowledge give you a sense of peace and acceptance of God's will. Katherine was a very special person in my life for many years. She was like a member of our family. Try as I might, I have never been able to find any pirogues like the ones she made. My daughter, Carol and I often reminisce about her and she joins me in sending the family our heartfelt sympathy.

Chochya Katrycia was such a special aunt. I still remember her baking me a cake on my 16th birthday and decorating it with heart shaped candy and giving me a memorable "sweet 16" birthday. I miss her already and am so saddened by the loss.
