Obituary

With tears and heaviest of hearts we announce that our dearly beloved Madalena Genova passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the age of 61. Born in São Miguel, Azores, Portugal on January 8, 1958 to Victorino and Margarita Carreiro, Madalena was one of eleven children. The soul mate and true love of her husband, Joe Genova and adoring and doting mother of two sons, Rodger and Ryan, she was the rock of her family with so much love to share, an infectious smile and beautiful memories to cherish, Madalena will never be forgotten. She will also always remain in the heart of Lucy Costa who was more like a daughter than a friend to Madalena. Lucy, your kindness and care is not lost on anybody and for that, we are eternally grateful. Madalena was an avid gardener, bird watcher and reader. If she wasn't tending to her family, she was beautifying her garden, curled up with a good book or just enjoying her day. During her time working at St. Anthony School, Madalena was greatly appreciated and a true treasure to students and teachers alike. She will be forever missed. Now on a new journey, she joins her father and brother to watch over the ones ones she loves and leaves us all with so many memories to reminisce about and precious memories to help us through our tears.

My Condolences to the Genova family. We spent many breaks together at St. Anthony's listening to her stories of her family and school life. She will be dearly missed. May you rest in Peace and shine down on your family during this difficult time.
