Obituary
CHEMERYNSKY, Maria-On Sunday, March 16th, 2008, Maria passed away peacefully in her sleep after enduring many years of illness at the age of 84. She leaves behind her loving husband Walter (Wolodymyr) of 54 years and her daughters Lesia and Irene Chemerynsky. Maria is also survived by her brother Ivan Kotelko and his family in Ukraine, her close family friends Walter and Anna Pityk and their son Rostyslaw Pityk and his wife Jane Smith as well as many friends and acquaintances in the Toronto area. She is recently predeceased by her sisters Pavlina and Ludvina. Maria, an avid gardener, could be found spending many hours sharing the fruits of her gardening labour. She had gret proficiency in many Slavic languages which endeared her to friends, neighbours and strangers alike. Many thanks to the staff of Castleview Rehabilitation Centre, Highbourne Lifecare Centre and the Ivan Franko Nursing Home. Maria is resting at the Cardinal Funeral Home, 92 Annette St., (east of Keele) on Wednesday, March 19th, 2008 from 6-9 p.m. with Panachyda at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services commencing Thursday, March 20th, 2008 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home then to the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Holy Protection (18 Leeds St., east of Ossigton, north of Bloor) for the Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Volodymyr Cemetery (1280 Dundas St. West, Oakville east of Proudfoot Trail, west of Fourth Line). Memorial remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Arthritis Society would be much appreciated.
