In Loving Memory of Mrs. Maria de Deus Senra Paiva, Maria de Deus, beloved wife, mother, sister, vovó and friend, peacefully departed from this world on Saturday, May 11, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. Born on September 14, 1936, Maria graced the world with her presence for 87 years. Throughout her journey, she touched countless lives with her warmth, generosity, and unwavering compassion. Maria was known for her charitable, caring, warm-hearted nature, which endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. She approached life with optimism, strength and resilience, inspiring those around her to face challenges with courage and grace. Maria will be remembered most for her profound love for her family. She was the heart and soul of her home, a woman with admirable integrity. Her unconditional love and support were a source of strength for those closest to her. Maria dedicated her life to helping those around her. Whether you were a homeless person on the street, or an orphan overseas in need, she supported you open-heartedly. Maria enjoyed reading, gardening, baking and cooking, finding comfort and peace in her passions. She leaves behind her husband José, her four children: Joseph, George, Ana Maria and Filipe, and her nine grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory and carry on her legacy of love and kindness. She will be reuniting with her eldest son Miguel in heaven. Though her physical presence may be gone, Maria will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, forever remembered for her sincere generosity, gentle spirit, and brave resilience.

A celebration of Maria Paiva's life will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church at 9:30am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Toronto, a cause close to our hearts.

Rest in peace, dear mother. Your spirit will continue to shine brightly, guiding and inspiring us always. With love and fond memories, Your family.
