Our sincere and deepest condolences to Jessica, her brother Steve, his wife Kristine, and their children, Isabel and Joe. Your Mom, our neighbour was considered one of the recognized matriarchs, and Nonna’s of Grace Street. She regularly sat on her front porch, with a stern watchful eye, looking out for her grandchildren, Isabel and Joe, and our children Chiara and Matteo, as well as the other children in the neighbourhood. She loved Isabel and Joe immensely. Wished the world for them and felt that good, “solid old fashioned discipline,” just like how she was raised in Portugal was best, and a “good whack on the bum with the broom,” now and then, as she sometimes was seen giving Joe and Isabel, was all well intended and filled with so much love. She took pride in her home, loved gardening, and would daily be seen, tending to her flowers and vegetables. Our prayers are with you all, and may her soul now rest, in everlasting peace. Dear Jessica, Steve and extended family, I am so truly sorry for your loss. Sra. Fatima was so sweet and always had a kind word every time I’d see her either in her garden or on your front porch.
