Obituary

Maria de Estrella Pimentel passed away in her sleep at Lakeshore Lodge Nursing Home on Monday, March 21, 2016 in the early morning, at the age of 83 years. Maria was born on January 7, 1933 in the town of Rabo de Peixe, St. Miguel. Azores, Portugal. Maria endured a long struggle with Alzheimer’s and has been called home to rest. Predeceased by her beloved husband Agostinho Gonzalves Pimentel, Married nearly 50 years; brother Jose Penacho, sister Maria Lucinda (Irmao Rosa da Lima). Daughter of Manual Jacinto Penacho and Maria Olinda Leite. Beloved mother of Agostinho Eduardo (Lillian), Francisco Manual, John (Lana). Dear grandmother of Daniel (Jessica), Mark,Cayley, Michael and Jennifer. She will also be fondly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation at Cardinal Funeral Homes - Bathurst Chapel, 366 Bathurst Street, Toronto, on Monday, March 28, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-9pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 588 Adelaide Street West, Toronto on Tuesday, March 29 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 375 Mt. Pleasant Road, Toronto. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
