CASINHA, Maria Odete Pimentel

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Maria Odete Pimentel Casinha on February 17, 2024 , she was 87.  She was born in São Pedro de Nordestinho, São Miguel, Azores. Daughter of Cecilia da Conceição Raposo and Francisco Inácio Pimentel.  She was born to a large family of 5 sisters and 4 brothers.  At the age of 25 she became a principal teacher in Porto Formoso, where she met her husband Manuel Pacheco Costa Casinha. They were married on April 14, 1963. On March 28, 1975 she immigrated to Toronto, Ontario to join her husband along with her children. She will be deeply missed by her dear children, Manuela, Manny (Christine), Sofia, Eddy (Debbie), Roger (Rita) and Sandra (Keny). Proud grandmother to Philip, Sara, Rebecca, Amanda (Phil), Megan (Damian), Julia, Jessica, Lucas, Caitlin, Matthew, Jonathan, Ayla, Alex, Chiara, Celena, Kendra and Adriel; great-grandmother to Vincent, Dominic, Avyanna, Felipa, Lola and Hudson.
