Yakowitch - Tatarchuk, Maria (Mary) (Nee Mendreshora)



September 9, 1912 - August 13, 2007



Passed away with grace and dignity at Sunnybrook Health Science Center, with family at her side.

Predeceased by Alexander Yakowitch, Fred Tatarchuk, sister Cecile (Montreal), brother George (Hawaii) and stepsons Steven, William and John.



Survived by son Eugene Yakowitch and cousins Julie Romanoski, Eugenia Mendreshora, Steve Mendreshora, Olga Kisil (Peter) and Rose Jones (Thomas). Also Nephew Zakhary Paranyuk (Natalia), and their daughters Victoria, Olenka (USA) and cousin Mydoria (Ukraine).



Loved and cherished by granddaughter Debra Stewart (Gerry) and her great grandchildren Christopher (Catherine), Lisa Marie, Gregory, Jason and Matthew.



Maria was very active in both Montreal and Toronto Ukrainian Communities.



In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. Demetrius (Etobicoke), St. Vladimir Institute (Toronto), Ukrainian Museum of Canada, (Ontario Branch), Saint Sophie Ukranian Orthodox Cathedral in Montreal.



Eugene expresses a warm thank you to all who enjoyed her company and contributed to her happiness.



Panachya at Cardinal Funeral Home, 366 Bathurst Street, Toronto on Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 7:30 pm, then to the Dallaire Funeral Home, 3254 Bellechasse Boulevard, Montreal for Panachya on Sunday August 19, 2007 at 7 pm. Funeral service in Saint Sophie Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 6250 - 12th Avenue, Montreal on Monday August 20, 2007 at 9:30 am. Interment Mount Royal Cemetery.
