Obituary

Yaremko, Mary (nee Materyn) - Peacefully passed away on Monday, March 28, 2005, with her husband John of 60 years at her side. Mary was an accomplished pianist. She became a prize winning R.N., her skills were impeccable, her patients adored her. Her love of the arts and music included supporting of the Faculty of Music, the Roy Thompson Hall, and a strong support of the Art Gallery of Ontario and the Canadian Opera Company, where she was an honourary member of the C.O.W.C. They donated their prized collection of early Canadian glass to the Royal Ontario Museum, of which they became founding members. During John's 25 year career as an elective public servant in the Ontario Parliament, Mary was a classic member/cabinet minister's wife. She was at equal ease with the Queen, with heads of state at palatial events and with humble constituents. Friends may call at the Cardinal Funeral Home, 366 Bathurst St. (near Dundas) on Wednesday from 2 - 4 & 6 - 9 pm. Panachyda at 7:30 pm. Funeral Service on Thursday, 10 am at St. Volodymyr's Cathedral. Burial at St. Voloymyr's Cemetery (Oakville).
