Very, very sorry to hear of Otha's passing. She was my teacher in approx. 1942 at the one-room (8 Grades), Dixon Public School near Newington, Ontario, when she filled in for our regular teacher. Otha had just graduated from Queen's and, I believe, had not yet become a full-fledged teacher. But she was wonderful and I remember her well. Her parents, Lottie and Harry Zeran were our good neighbours when we all lived in the farming community on the 6th Concession of Osnabruck. I knew her brother Walter who served in WW2 and her sister Audrey and I had two sisters, Doris and Iris. We were all friends. Fond memories of a wonderful family, especially of Otha so many, many years ago.

Keltie, I was sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I met her once, at Toni's retirement tea, and I was struck by her grace and her curiosity, traits I know she passed on to her children. So she lives on. I hope you and your family have had time to share the countless memories of your lives together. Wishing you the solace those moments will give.

Deepest Condolences on the passing of Otha. I met and shared many conversations with her at Carol Belford’s 10 am Tuesday class at Yorkminster Park Friendship Room. Otha was a very humble and gentle spirit. Her deep wisdom of God’s Inspired Word always moved me .Thank you dear Lord for her way of touching me and so many others. A “ special soul” has joined Heaven dear Lord. May Grace , Peace and Mercy circle all those in her living family and friends.

Otha Sim, then "Miss Zeran" was my homeroom teacher when I was in Grade 10 at Markham High School in 1950. Lots of happy memories over 73 years.
