God called Sarah (Sally) peacefully on Feb 21, 2024 at the age of 87. She is now reunited in heaven with her husband Bob (Robert). Cherished by her 4 dear children Sherry, Kimberly, Pamella (Dave) and Rob (Jennifer). Proud grandmother to Nicole, Grant, Sarah, Jasmine, Robert, Tyler, Erika, Destiny, Joshua, Deija, Jaela and two Great Grandchildren, Kairo and Nia and Bonus Grandchildren, Christopher and Brendan. She was born to Russell and Gertrude Green on January 25th 1937 in Owen Sound Ontario. She was the youngest daughter of 15 and with one surviving brother George (Carol) Green of Sauble Beach. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and Great nieces and nephews. After moving to Windsor Ontario, she met her future Husband Bob while roller skating. Sally loved spending her time with her Church Family at the BME. Her passion was bowling, spending time with family, and church. Sally received several Awards throughout the years and also volunteered over 30 years at Ontario Black History Society. Sally was also a member of the Toronto Seniors Forum. She also spent many hours working with many dignitaries and dined along with the best. Sally was proud of her Owen Sound heritage and a strong independent black woman who overcame many adversities and racial barriers to become the amazing woman they call mom. We are grateful for the memories of the love and laughter that mom brought into our lives and we will always cherish them.

Dear family, l’ve lived at 85 Bleecker Street for over 40 years, and I’m sorry to hear about Sally’s passing. Sally was a kind, friendly neighbour. I’m still in shock about her passing. I wish l had known you all as she used to talk about her family a lot. I can still see her smile. Always vibrant! RIP Sally 🕊️❤️

As a frequent attendee of the OBHS, knowing I was going to see Sally every year was one of my highlights. Her infectious smile and warm hug always started the event off well for me. I've missed her! But she lives on as she has not left us without disseminating her humanitarian qualities to her children. Pam, you know how I love you and I am sending my special thoughts to you and all the family as you continue to honour your mom. She was a great lady with a big heart and I am happy to have had the privilege to know her.
