Obituary

Shirley Elizabeth Love (nee Eccles)
Passed away at Southlake Regional Health Centre in her 93rd year. She was a loving wife to her predeceased husband, the late Douglas George Love.
A loving and cherished mother to Linda (Peter) Emsley, Kim Love (Mike Hardt) and Doug Love (Wendy Dewsbury). Nana to Eryn Shannon (Colin Carruthers) and Michael Shannon. Great Nana to Loki, Olly and many nieces and nephews. She treasured her special friends, Petra Hardt, Roma Dick, Becky Henderson and Tim Judd.
Momma Love lived an incredibly blessed life and was loved, respected and cherished by so many people. She was always vibrant, humorous, and happy. Especially when she partook in enjoying her favourite TV Shows (The Y&R, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and watching her old movies over and over). She loved living on Lake Simcoe, keeping close to her entire family.
A very joyous period of her life was when she worked at Transportaction Lease Systems. She stayed with them until she was 83 years old as she felt the warmth of her colleagues and had many laughs there.
A special thanks to all the caring and compassionate staff at Southlake Regional Health Centre – Newmarket.
As per her wishes, a private service has been held with her immediate family, and she now rests with her husband Doug – her one love.
In Shirley’s memory donations can be made to: Southlake Regional Health Centre, Shades of Hope (Pefferlaw, ON), Toronto Humane Society or a Charity of your choice would be appreciated.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared on the Cardinal Funeral Home's website.

My deepest condolences to all of you, Mrs. Kim as Bruce called her was the sweetest lady you were honoured to have in your life. She wore her heart on her sleeve and she fought a good fight. May she rest in Peace and May you all cherish the good times that we’re had and know that she will live forever in your hearts. I remember just recently when we were up to Kim and Mike’s place she was encouraging Bruce to keep walking to reach a certain amount of steps. Who in their 90’s cares to do that? Not very many but she did!!! She would out walk him that’s for sure! Capri my granddaughter would often say to me that she was so impressed by how smart she was and would love to see her❤️ She has definitely touched so many and live on in so many! That you can count on! Till we meet again Mrs. Kim my🙏💔

What sad news. My prayers and sincere condolences to you Kim and family. I will always treasure moments shared with Mama Love. I was new to Transportaction and she made me feel at home. She was such a sweet lady. I was so impressed how she carried herself, working full days at 80 years young. I remember telling her, “when I grow up, I want to be just like you! 💕” She was loved by everyone. She will be missed. May she rest in peace.
