4 October 2022 Feast of St.Francis of Assisi. "Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace, where there is hatred, let me sow love. For it is giving that we receive and it is dying that we are born into eternal life." As someone who was my colleague and friend, her death leaves a very deep emptiness in my heart and soul. She was a person of deep faith and this was manifested her many virtues and way of life that reflected the Grace and love of God! As the prayer of St. Francis, whose feast it is today, affirms we are to reflect the Divine light in our lives and irradiate it throughout the people around us so that they too may know it's joyful happiness and contentment. When it came to this, Svitlana, was a true mirror in which one always saw her love and concern for others, her caring heart and nurturing spirit that touched the lives of so many students and colleagues who had the privilege and blessing to know her and be loved by her, just as we loved her greatly. Her constant self giving nature, we are assured, is what has placed her in the loving Arms of her Saviour and God , Jesus Christ under the mantle of His Holy Mother, the Most Holy Virgin Mary. In her self offering she presented herself as a gift to Heaven and she has been born Into Eternal Life! Vichnaya Pamyat!
