Vida Toyich (Nee Krstic) Born August 9, 1923 In Zabari, Serbia, Daughter of the late Ilija and Vuka Krstic, and predeceased by sister Gordana Vlahovich, and brother Prvoslav Krstic, ascended into the welcoming arms of our Lord on Serbian Orthodox Palm Sunday, April 24, 2016. Adored and beloved wife of the late Lieutanant Colonel Miodrag Toyich. Survived by her adoring daughters Boyanna and Lilian (Wolfgang), nieces Mylena Woloszczuk (Louis Mayrand), Alexandra Fievoli (Michael Fievoli), nephew Alexander Vlahovich, grand-nephews Nicholas Woloszczuk (Karyn), Matthew Vlahovich (Julie), Alexander Fievoli, and grand-nieces Ann Woloszczuk, Angelica Fievoli and Andrea Vlahovich, great-great-nephew and niece Cameron Woloszczuk and Ella Vlahovich. Vida is held in our hearts as a beautiful and shining beacon of love and light that touched everyone who knew her. She was an extraordinary mother, courageous war hero and loyal friend. She might still be with us now had God not made an offer to her that she simply could not refuse. We entrust her amazing spirit into His loving care and are forever grateful to have had the gift of this beautiful soul with us and to call her MOM. Friends may call at the Cardinal Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 4 – 7 p.m. Funeral Services to be held in the chapel of the Funeral Home on Thursday at 11 a.m.. Interment will follow at York Cemetery, 160 Beecroft Road, North York. In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation in Vida’s memory to Registered Music Education Charity, Toyich International Projects (Vida Toyich Scholarship Fund).
