Chrystyna (Domazar) Pedde
Pani Zina and my mother, Lydia Domazar, were friends on and off for over 50 years. I remember their frequent telephone chats when I was a little girl and how my mother would always feel better afterwards. Pani Zina would encourage my mother and buoy her spirits when she was down. Whenever I answered the telephone, Pani Zina always made a point of talking to me as well before I passed on the phone to my mother. When I was a teenager, Mr. and Mrs. Semeniuk took my mother and me to Wildwood. My mother and I were thrilled to discover the wonderful beaches of New Jersey. And when we drove back, they insisted that we all stop overnight in New York City so that we could get a taste of the Big Apple. It was one of the best times that I ever had with my mother and I will always be grateful to Pani Zina and Pan Vlodyk for making it possible. Pani Zina was always kind, good-natured, and encouraging whenever I encountered her. I will remember her with great fondness. My condolences to the Semeniuk family on your great loss.

Dear Orest and Borys (Bobo) My mother Lydia Domazar and your mother had a close friendship going back to just after the second World War. That friendship was not without its ups and downs, but the connection which was forged in post-war Europe endured for many years after both emigrated to Canada to start new lives here. Unfortunately, my mother who is now in the throes of dementia is incapable of extending her condolences for your profound loss and I do so on her behalf. But I also wish to express condolences on my own behalf as I have very fond memomories of your mom. She was a beautiful and down-to-earth dark-eyed brunette who always treated us kindly. I recall also how you boys teased me and my sister Chrystyna (it was probably a two-way street) when we were kids and here we are now, many years later, marking another of life's more important and inevitable passages. May you, your father, and your children weather this one well and continue to live as fully as you can.

We enjoyed being neighbours of Mr.and Mrs. Semeniuk. Mrs. Semeniuk was a lovely woman with a ready smile, a pleasant greeting and a warm presence. We have missed her. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to Mr. Seminiuk, their sons and extended family. Sincerely, David Merner, Beth Atcheson and Patrick Merner at 44 Woodside Avenue

‘Pani Zina’ has always held a special place in my heart -- not only as my godmother but as a close friend of our family who treated me when I was a child like I was grown up. I remember many special occasions at the Semeniuk home enjoying Pani Zina’s marvelous cooking and being inspired by her effervescent and affectionate personality. I will miss her forever and share my condolences with her family. Yurko (George) Horhota
