Obituary

Ana Paula Almeida Kitterhing De Sousa, a beloved mother, daughter, and sibling, passed away at the age of 57 on October 15, 2023.

Born on July 21, 1966, in Lubito, Angola, she embarked on a life journey that touched the hearts of those around her. As a young teen, she, along with her cherished parents, Fernanda and Fernando, and her three younger siblings, Jorge, Iris, and Fernando, moved to Portugal.

After a few years travelling Europe, she settled down in London England where she met her daughter’s father. Ana Paula was the loving mother of her daughter, Raquel Almeida Margulies, and made Toronto her home specifically to be close to her daughter. She was known for her kind and creative spirit, her unwavering compassion, her fearless approach to life, and her undying devotion to her loved ones. Her presence infused the world with an indescribable magic that will continue to resonate.

In the west-end of Toronto, Ana Paula's charismatic and affectionate energy became a defining aspect of the community. Her work in the service industry was a testament to her dedication to providing the best experiences for her patrons. Despite not having much in terms of material wealth, she was the embodiment of generosity, offering her time, energy, care, and even financial support without hesitation.

Ana Paula Almeida Kitterhing De Sousa's legacy of kindness and selflessness will forever remain etched in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. May we honour her spirit by bringing light and love into this world. We look to her memories for examples on how to treat our fellow person: with kindness, acceptance, generosity, and unrelenting caregiving.
Reception with food and drinks following the service will be held at 559 College St. (Amore Resto Bar)

Memo

Hi everyone, for the funeral tomorrow I am asking that everyone please take a rapid covid test in the morning before the service. We have many elderly and immunocompromised people attending and I want to make sure it is as safe as possible for them. If you don't have any covid tests at home all Toronto Public Libraries have them available, or you can contact Raevv'n at 647-354-7289 and she will deliver some to you no problem at all. Make sure you don't eat or drink anything for 30 minutes before you do the test, and swab your cheeks and throat before you swab your nose. If you test negative but feel sick, please wear a mask as I just want all of us to be healthy and safe. Much love.
