Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Sister Irene you have earned your wings and gained your strength in the Lord. I thank you for your love and concern, for Aaliyah and I. We are going to miss your many jokes and laughter, we shared in church, and occasional bus trips to Buffalo, N.Y. Most of all, your views, were spoken with honesty, spirituality, and purposeful meanings. Well done good and faithful servant 🙏 God Bless, Rhonda and Aaliyah Grant

I remember the day I was baptized in 2008 at First Baptist Church, and Sis Irene adopted me (as one of her many daughters ) right there and than. Over the years we shared tea, bible scriptures, events and she was very generous with her time to talk and encourage me the spiritual walk with the Father...she would say "Well It is in the Father's Hands". Like my wife I too had good relationship with Sis Irene during our time together as ushers at First Baptist Church for many years. It was a wonderful time for us to work together as ushers. Now you are on your way home to be with the Master. I still have my work to do, so one day we will meet again in the Master's Mansion. Sister Irene you will be missed by us, but we take comfort in knowing you are resting in the arms of Angels. Until we meet again.

I shall always cherish the fond memories I have of my beloved friend, Irene, and will miss our regular phone chats from which I gained much wisdom and encouragement. We worked together very well in First Baptist Church, especially our time on the Usher Board. Irene was faithful and loyal in anything she undertook; she was a wonderful Christian lady and I looked up to her. My dear Irene, you have earned your rest in Christ, and Heaven now has gained a precious and beautiful angel. "To God Be The Glory"

Our beloved Sis. Catherine Meade, affectionately know as Irene, was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Toronto. She was a kind and active member who will be missed dearly. We'll cherish the many fond moments shared together. Sis. Irene was a very gracious mother figure to me (as pastor). We had a cordial mother/son relationship and I thank God for her support towards me as her pastor. May she rest in peace. on behalf of Rev. Wendell and Rosil Gibbs, the Gibbs and Church Family
