Rae Berniece Johnson

I was in one of Rae's classes around 2010-2011 and remember her as being helpful, knowledgable, and easy to talk to. So devastating to hear that she has passed - hope she is at peace now, and condolences to her family and friends. <3

She was my professor at OCAD in 2009. I really enjoyed her lectures and have always thought of her as an inspiration. My sincere condolences for your loss.

I find it hard to put into words how I feel. Dear Joslyn and June, my heart goes out to you. We have lost a friend, the world has lost a great artist and a beautiful person, but you have lost your mother. I will think of you and embrace you with love and light.

Adrian you have my deepest sympathies. It’s hard to lose anyone close to us, but hardest might be a mother. I was not aware she was a victim of this illness, that in itself is hard to imagine. Keep your memories of times with her close, in time they will be the greatest comfort.

I worked briefly with Rae years ago. What a dame! Her big heart and kindness have never been forgotten. Rest in power dear Rae.

Sincere condolences to Joslyn and June. Rae has left an incredible legacy, not only with you two, but with the incredible body of work she created. Writing this from Flesherton where I first met her circa 1989.

I have such fond memories of Rae as a student then a colleague at OCA (OCAD U). My sincere condolences to her family. May her memory be a blessing.

It was wonderful knowing Rae - the world has lost a beautiful and caring being. Her spirit will be with us always. I am so glad we got to spend some time together however briefly. Sending love to you in the next dimension.
