Obituary
In Loving Memory of Evangelia
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Evangelia, surrounded by family, in her 103rd year. Beloved wife of the late Eleutherios. Cherished mother of Anthi (Adam Zoupas), Dionysia (Chris Papadacos), Nicky (John Giannoulis), and Parascos (An Nguyen). Proud and devoted Yiayia to her grandchildren: Tom (Sara Furtado), Terry, Angeline (George Charilaou), Spiro, Terry, Evangeline (Sebastian Palazzo), Peter (Ashley Giannoulis), and Julia, and great-grandchildren: Deanna, Christos, Adam, Andreas, Johnny, Alysia, and Leonidas.
Evangelia will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends in Canada and Greece.
Born in Greece, Evangelia immigrated to Canada in the winter of 1954 with two young children to reunite with her husband. She worked hard, sacrificed greatly, and navigated tough times without ever complaining or showing strife. She was deeply devoted to her family and served as the glue that held them all together. Evangelia taught us what it means to love big, to forgive quickly, and to never hold onto anger. As a practicing Christian, she always put everyone before herself. She leaves a legacy of kindness, selflessness, and love.
Our family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the incredible team at Kensington Hospice for their loving care and support in her final months.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kensington Hospice in Evangelia’s memory.
