Obituary

It is with sadness we share the passing of Donna Piccinin-Craig, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband David, sons Adam and Alex, daughter-in-law Samantha and grandchildren Charlotte and Theo. Her sisters JoAnne (Bob) and Patricia (John) and their families were a real source of strength for her.

Donna was a gold medal winning engineer who believed in life long learning. She would go on to add a variety of initials to her name including P.Eng., MBA, PMP and CPA. A voracious reader, she often read over 100 books per year and was a huge supporter of libraries everywhere.

Donna was most proud of being mom to Adam and Alex and very much enjoyed becoming Nonna to Charlotte and Theo. She was also Zia to Suzanne, Bill and Jack that made her very happy.

With David, she travelled extensively and lived in Canada, the UK, US and Peru. Vacation planning was a real strength of hers and she was so happy to have seen so much of the world. Hiking, trying new cuisines and figuring out local public transit were her favourite travel highlights.

Donna’s advice to her family has been consistent: always do your best, travel the world, and live in the moment. She was so proud of having visited every Canadian province and territory and would like everyone to do the same.

A private cremation and funeral has taken place. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation directed to Respirology. A special thanks to Doctors Hammad and McIntyre for the extra attention they gave Donna during her treatment. Nurse Practitioner Jane Yoon was a special blessing as Donna neared the end of her journey.

So saddened by Donna's all too young loss. Donna's courage and strength was so remarkable. Her attention to research and detail admirable. A new angel is now watching over all of you, as she is organizing the stars and dancing with the northern lights. She and her stories will be sadly missed at the lake. and my condolences David and to all the family Love Kim
