Obituary

Born to Ann Paupst (Richard Tyler) and Vincent Watters on April 23, 1955, Christopher lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep loyalty, and a generous heart. After a courageous silent battle with cancer, he passed away on December 3, 2025. He is now reunited in Heaven with his parents, who have all preceded him in death.

Christopher was forever cherished by his brothers, Michael (Martha Young) and Timothy, and held a special place in the lives of his nieces and nephews—Matthew (Courtney), Nicholas (Michèle), and Charlotte—as well as his great-nephews Everett, Gabriel, and Xavier.

He was a devoted husband to Sylvia Medwedchuk-Watters and an amazing stepfather and grandfather, deeply loved by all whose lives he touched. He proudly embraced his role as stepfather to Lisa (Henry), Christine, and Angie (Gino), and found immense joy in his grandchildren: Jordan, Aaron, Cassandra, David, Andre, Chyanne, and Angelo. His legacy of love continued through his treasured great-grandchildren, Helena and Lorenzo. Chris was also a loved uncle to Danny (Erik) and Dion.

Over the years, many people come into our lives for a reason or a season. I had the privilege of working alongside Chris at GCNA for a handful of years, and was lucky enough to stay friends with him for many more. He had the best laugh, the most mischievous grin, and always a great story to share. Hugs to his family, his friends, and his workmates. ❤️ He will always be fondly remembered and dearly missed.

My condolences to Sylvia and the family. When I worked with Chris at Berkley a few years ago he taught me many things about surety, but my fondest memory of him was when he invited us to his cottage for a weekend. He had us in stitches the whole time we were there. But it was also there, that I came to understand his love of his family. I'm honoured that I was able to have that time with him to remember.

It is with deep sadness to learn of Chris' passing. He was not only an exceptional leader but also a mentor and a source of inspiration. I will always be grateful to him for guiding me through and giving me the opportunity to grow which has shaped me . He was the kind manager who led by example - supportive, insightful and genuinely invested in the success of those around him. My deepest condolence to the family.

Many memories of working together at GCNA, what a time was had by all involved. I especially remember our annual spring outings to the LeBaron outdoor store for fishing tackle. He will be missed. Condolences to all friends and family.

My sincere condolences to Sylvia, Mike, Tim and the entire family. Chris was such a wonderful friend and confidant. After living with Chris for two years at university I began to realize that most of my friends were folks he introduced to me. Such a unique personality. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
