Obituary
Domingos Belo, born on January 14, 1937 in Aveiro, Portugal was sent to his eternal home on March 16, 2026.
He is survived by his loving wife, Julia, his son Joe (Irene) and his daughter Rose (Lou). His grandchildren Jason (Andreea), Lucas (Amanda) Olivia (Patrick) and his great grand babies Silas and Mason.
He immigrated to Canada alone to set up a new life for his family. Building the foundation and setting an example for his children on what it meant to work hard and reap the rewards of hard work and dedication.
Domingos’ greatest joy was his family. His grandchildren were his world and he was adored by them. He loved spoiling them and making them laugh by telling stories about his life. His face lit up at the first sight of them. He loved being silly with them and was a great jokester; anything to make them laugh. Referring to them as his ‘prendas’ (his gifts). He took great pride in his kids achievements and was the biggest supporter and proponent of his grandkids, beaming with pride at the smallest achievement and of coarse always trying to secretly slip them a few dollars every time they visited him.
He was fiercely independent. At 89 he was still driving his little car running errands to the grocery store, bank or bakery. He would drop anything if anyone of us called him needing his help.
At the first sign of warm weather, you could find him in the garden, growing the biggest tomatoes, basil leaves and beans anyone had ever seen.
He loved to cook; he was the happiest in the kitchen cooking and spoiling his wife by cooking for her everyday.
His purpose in this world was blessed with love, compassion and an intense commitment to those he loved most.
He was absolutely adored by his grandkids taking the title of funniest and sweetest Vu (grandfather in Portuguese)
He will be dearly missed.
Descansa em paz, querido Pai e Avô.
Rest in peace, dear Grandfather
