Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eduardo Pacheco, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who left this world surrounded by the love of his family.

He is survived by his devoted wife Virginia, children Paula (Emanuel), Amelia (Kevin) and Mark (Maria), and grandchildren Michael, Sarah, Emily, Jack, Noah and Riley. He is survived by his brother Antonio (Josefina). Predeceased by his parents Antonio and Amelia Pacheco and his brother José (Antonieta predeceased).

He was a man known above all for his kindness, his selflessness, and a smile so big it could light up any room. To know him was to feel welcomed, supported, and cared for. He gave freely of himself, always placing others before his own needs, and never hesitated to lend a helping hand.

A skilled and dedicated carpenter, he spent many years working at Toronto General Hospital, where his craftsmanship and strong work ethic were matched only by his humility and quiet pride in serving others. His hands built more than wood and walls — they built trust, respect, and lasting connections.

Soccer was one of his great passions. As a proud player for Benfica Águia Sport, he brought the same heart, teamwork, and determination to the field that he carried into every part of his life. The camaraderie and joy he found in the game stayed with him always.

Above all, he was a family man. An amazing and devoted father, an adoring and loving husband, and a doting grandfather whose eyes sparkled with pride and tenderness. He was a loving brother, the favourite uncle to his many nieces and nephews, and a loyal friend to all who were fortunate enough to know him. His family was his greatest accomplishment and his deepest joy.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and quiet strength. Though his absence is deeply felt, his spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely.

He will be forever missed and always remembered.

The family would like to thank the Temmy Latner Palliative Care Team, Dr. Mazzotta and nurse Kerrie Hughes for their support and care.

Donations in memory of Eduardo may be made to the Sinai Health Foundation, gift designation to Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care.
