Obituary

It is with immense heartbreak and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather Jose Luis on February 13, 2026. In his final days and moments he was surrounded with the love and comfort of those he valued most: his family.

Jose Luis Raposo was born on November 22, 1939 in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel, Açores, Portugal. He is survived by his devoted wife, Olga, and beloved father of Carlos (AnaMaria), Helia (John) and Marco (Patricia). He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Matthew Brandon (Marija), Jordan, Alessia, and Luc, and great-grandson Alex.

Jose Luis will be remembered for how much he loved his family and life long love for soccer, especially his favourite team Benfica. As a young man, he proudly played in a league himself, a passion that remained close to his heart throughout his life.

Jose Luis' strength, love and devotion to his family will never be forgotten. He will be greatly missed, forever remembered, and always in our hearts.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at Cardinal Funeral Homes, 366 Bathurst St., Toronto. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes' Parish, 15 Grace St., Toronto. Interment to follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, 6933 Tomken Rd., Mississauga.

My sincere condolences to Olga and whole family. My uncle will be deeply missed. I always looked forward to his weekly calls that ended arrivedercil. I remember him way back in Sao Miguel on his bike and coming over to help my mom when she dictated letters for my dad in Canada. I was about 5 years old. He did for few years till my sisters could do it. All the visits he did to our home especially when my mom was not well and was in rehab at Bayview and Bathurst. By bike he would drive that distance. He was incredible in visiting his brothers when illI Hissister in law’s nephews and the list goes on. Amazing what he did that we don’t even realized. I love him so much and it will take awhile before we get used to not hearing ARRIVERDERCI. Love you Tio You are receiving your award from Jesus Christ. Rest in peace
