Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our much-loved father, Nicola Boragina, who passed away at The O’Neill Centre in Toronto on October 22, 2025 with his loving family by his side.

Nicola was predeceased by his beloved wife, Caterina, and cherished son, Michael (Maria).

Nicola was a devoted father to Greg (Lily), Angie (Jac), Vito, and Mario. He was the proud nonno to Nicholas, Nicholas (Nilou), Melissa (Andde) and Daniel (Stephanie) and adoring bisnonno to Sophia and Jonathan.

A quiet, stoic, generous, hard-working and self-effacing man, Nicola left San Nicola da Crissa in Italy to give his children more opportunities. Nothing was more important to Nicola than family - except perhaps his garden and fig trees.

Special thanks to Samkyi, Tsering, Kalsang and Devica for their compassionate care and to the caring staff at the O’Neill Centre.

The visitation will take place at Cardinal Funeral Homes, 366 Bathurst Street, Toronto on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.

The funeral mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 72 Mansfield Avenue, Toronto, on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 9:30 a.m

The entombment will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 8361 Yonge Street, Thornhill, on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 11:45 a.m. (time is approximate).

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a charitable donation to a charity that supports children’s education, a local food bank or the Alzheimer Society.
