Obituary

Xieu Hien Trang was a caring wife, daughter, sister, aunt, volunteer, and cherished friend whose warmth and generosity touched everyone she met. She passed away peacefully on November 12th, 2025, at the age of 79, concluding a courageous and grace-filled journey with cancer.

Born on February 12th, 1946, in Tra Vinh, Vietnam, Xieu was the eldest of nine children and naturally embraced her role as the family’s steady matriarch. From a young age, she worked tirelessly to support and care for her siblings, embodying strength, responsibility, and unwavering love.

Xieu found joy in community, whether gathering with friends at Vietnamese social club, sharing laughter over weekly bingo, or offering her time as a dedicated volunteer. She even taught herself Mandarin, Cantonese and English so she could communicate with her friends at work. Her charisma, kindness, and lively spirit made her a bright presence wherever she went. Even during the most difficult moments of her illness, Xieu continued to bring smiles to others with a joke or demand for more ketchup packets for her favourite Filet-o-Fish sandwich.

She leaves behind her beloved siblings and in-laws, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She will be deeply missed.

The family invites you to join them in honouring Xieu’s life with a Buddhist service at Cardinal Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 18th at 9am to 10am, and witness the cremation at 11am.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 17th from 5pm to 9pm
