Judit Maria "Judy" da Silva, passed away peacefully with her mom at her side, on Tuesday March 15th, 2022. Beloved daughter of Maria and Jose da Silva of Toronto. Loving sister of Joseph (Carlos) da Silva and Neli Brum and her husband Mark. Sadly, missed aunt of Julian Brum. Judy will be missed by her family, friends and all the students she taught throughout her career as an educator. Ms. Da Silva had a lasting impact on me and my brother. We both had the pleasure of having her as our French teacher at St. Luke. I have fond memories of chatting with Mme Da Silva in her office. We bonded over our love of television, music and books. She was an amazing person who was kind-hearted. May you rest in peace and your legacy will live on through your students. It's evident in this memorial book how much of an impact Judy had on her students. I was one of those students, and I developed a passion for studying French and other languages because of her engaging teaching methods. I am grateful to have known her. Sending my sincerest condolences to the family. Madame Da Silva was one of a few teachers who had a lasting impact on my life - from my very first day of school in Canada at the age of 6, to my last day at 12 years old. I’m 26 now and still think about the impact she had on me. She was truly one a kind and will always be remembered by so, so many of her students.

I had the pleasure like many other students at St. Luke’s of having Mme DaSilva as my French teacher for years. I remember in grade 6 bonding over modern family with her. She was so kind and always made French fun for every student that entered her classroom. My deepest condolences to her family and loved ones. She will not be forgotten.

She was my lovely French teacher in St.Luke’s on Ossington. Through out al my years in the school. She was a lovely friendly and kind teacher I remember her surprise bag when we would play French games on Friday’s.

Madame was a passionate teacher who ensured every student was learning at the same pace with stimulating lessons and activities. I pursued french after St. Luke because she encouraged me to.
