Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Armando Vizinho at the age of 78.

After just over a year, he will be reunited with his wife of 50 plus years, Maria Vizinho.

Armando was born on June the 16th 1943 in Algarvia, São Miguel, Portugal. He grew up in a fairly large family, having 1 brother and 5 sisters. Years after this birth, the family  moved to Povoação, where he would later meet the love of his life. They married in that same city on Dec 1st, 1968 and soon after, started their big family of 5 children. Wanting more for himself and his family, they uprooted on the 28th of April, 1986  to Toronto, Canada where he planted his roots from the ground up for his children and grandchildren to inherit.

Being the hardworking and strong man he was, he started working for the Woodbine Racetrack as a caretaker. Finally after all his years of working and side jobs and his creativity of building and renovating, he retired at the age of 60. Soon after, he made the decision to purchase a trailer where his family could take their get togethers closer to nature and bring him back to his roots.

He loved his wife, he loved his children and 13 grandchildren and loved that trailer and spending his days relaxing in his patio chair with his sun hat and a sparkling water.

He leaves us with years full of memories and hearts full of love that can never be forgotten.

He is survived by his 2 sisters, Diolinda and Maria Jose; his 5 children  Isaias (Helen), Jose (Juliana),  Lucy (Brian), Armando (Lisa), and Alex (Danny). His many grandchildren, Steve (Kasey), Stephanie, Jose Jr. (Christine), Clarissa, Ashley, Luana, Nicholas, Xavier, Benjamin, Skylar, Jhonny, Maribel and Noah along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

Due to the current capacity limit in our funeral home chapel, the service details will be kept private and guests will be able to participate by invitation only. We encourage those that are unable to attend in person to express their sympathy by posting a message of condolence to our website, donating to a charity of your choice in memory of your loved one or by sending flowers to the funeral home.
