Obituary

James “Jim” Joseph Devin

Jim passed away suddenly after a brief illness in his 80th year. He was the third of seven children, and beloved uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. His Toronto neighbours were his family as well. Jim will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his family and friends. He received his Master of Philosophy from the University of Toronto, and retired as an employee of the City of Toronto. His passions were philosophy and classical music. Jim took tremendous pride in the cleanliness of his treasured street and supporting his community. He enjoyed caring for his garden and those of others. He was a devout member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish.

There will be a family service of remembrance in June on his 80th birthday, and Jim will be interred in the family plot in Sombra, Ontario.

“May the sun shine warm upon your face.”

We were so sorry to learn of Jim's passing. He was a gentle man, who was always kind to my Dad, Mom, and family, especially at Falconer family gatherings. We sent each other family photos and remembrances from time to time. I even traded a few philosophical ideas with Jim, who loved our exchange. We will miss him at the upcoming get-together. Condolences to Anne and Sharon from Duane, Kim, Michele, and Caroline.
