Obituary
John Battersby peacefully passed away at Toronto Western Hospital on Monday, August 21, 2023 at the age of 86.
John was surely welcomed into Heaven by his loving wife, Marilyn (predeceased), his daughter, Debbie (predeceased), and his sister, Carrie (predeceased). He will be sorely missed by his son, Glen, who looked after his father lovingly as he aged at home.
John will be missed by his brother-in-law, Chris. He will forever be lovingly remembered by his nephew, Jamie, niece, Cindy, niece Christine (predeceased), great nieces, Meghan and Kate and great nephew, Chris, as Uncle Jack.
John worked for many years in the rubber industry and loved discussing the details of his work passionately with others at family gatherings.
John enjoyed the simple things in life and especially loved his early morning walks in High Park. He loved the peaceful, quiet of Mother Nature in the morning on his long walks through the park. He also enjoyed playing the occasional game of golf while on vacation and became an avid golfer for a time.
John absolutely loved going to the movies. He shared this love with his family and had a standing Tuesday date with his sister for many years.
There will be a private interment ceremony for the family in the near future.
