Obituary

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Numeriano Raymundo Alfonso on Easter Monday, April 1, 2024.

Born on July 5, 1926 in Manila, Philippines, Numeriano was a loving and devoted husband of the late Nieves Alfonso and a caring father of his 10 children:  Isabelita, Carmelita, Rodolfo, Melchor, Evelyn, Ceferino, Zenaida, Aurora, Dominador, and Nerissa.  He will forever be adored by his nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.  Best of all Numeriano was a fun-loving, witty, and charismatic Lolo to his 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

With his many life accomplishments, Numeriano was a man of honour who held strong family values and respected others.  He took great pride in his work and strove to give his very best everyday.

Numeriano will be fondly remembered for his humorous nature, love of great food and conversation as well as his remarkable flair for fashion.  Young at heart, he loved singing and showing off his rockstar quality with his harmonica.  He captivated everyone’s heart with his joy for life, love, and laughter.  These are his gifts that he shared with the world, and we are blessed to have had Lolo Numeriano in our lives.

Dear Lolo, With every visit my intention was to entertain and cheer you up … but instead you end up making me laugh and appreciate nature and life. Truly, you are a sunshine in your bahay kubo at Kensington. I got my passion for food, music, and fashion (with attitude) from you. You are always gracious, resilient, strong in spirit and awe inspiring in courage. Salamat Lolo … we are all here because of you. (Mahalo for the goodbye kiss on my hand always.) Love, Atche P.S.: Lolo, I hate it when you win on dice, tic tac toe, and Blackjack … but I LOVE the HUGE smile when you win. (Just want to sing “I miss my lolo … I miss my lolo … I miss my lolo”.)
