Mr. Urbano Jacinto De Sousa

Obituary

Urbano passed away peacefully on Saturday January 28, 2023, at Villa Colombo in Vaughan.  Beloved husband of the late Antonietta De Luca De Sousa of 57 years.  Urbano will be dearly missed by son Fernando (Lori) De Sousa, daughter Filomena (Mike) Godin, and daughter Maria Kanga.  Six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Urbano was a loving father and a hardworking man.  Very strong and sometimes very stubborn.  He loved to play dominos and scopa (the card fishing game) for hours at a time.  He was very religious and would pray the rosary every day.  He never had a drivers licence in his 92 years and walked everywhere.  He had a big heart and would sponsor foster children.  When he worked at the Riverdale hospital as a cleaner he would use his breaks to help the patients on his floor.  He loved making homemade wine and would always say “we need to drink this wine to make room for the new wine”.

Visitation will be held at Cardinal Funeral Home 366 Bathurst Street Toronto on Saturday February 4^th from 11am-12:30pm.  This will be followed by a mass at St Helen’s Church and then a burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
