Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Katherine Marushchak announces her passing from cancer at the age of 61 years.

She will be forever remembered by her husband of 35 years, Michael, her beloved children, Olivia (Andrew) and Mark, by her mother Anna, by her sisters and brother Anna (Andre), Eugenia (Philip) and William (Helena). Katherine will also be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, extended family, numerous esteemed colleagues, and dear friends.

She was a dedicated, helpful Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for 30 years in in various units. Most of her career has been working in rehabilitation at Trillium Health but also Women’s College Hospital, Humber River, and West Park. Due to cancer, she retired in 2014. Her coworkers described her as energetic, bubbly, down to earth and an amazing individual who cared and stood up for her patients and hardworking colleague/friend.

Katherine’s family and friends will always remember her generous and loving heart. She was a multitasker always bouncing between tasks and conversations. She enjoyed the great outdoors and working in her garden. She was gifted with a ‘green thumb.’ When not gardening, she was reading or listening to her favourite music. She was always the heart of the party especially when dancing with friends or her husband. She enjoyed attending plays and going to the theatre with her daughter or family. Her sense of style was described as forever classic and always with her signature lipstick shade. Decorating her home for each season and holidays was her joy. More recently, she learned to cook and bake more complicated meals with great success. Finally, she was very proud of her children and their accomplishments. Katherine was always grateful for the years she had with her family and friends.

Вічнaя Пам'ять, Eternally Remembered.

A Celebration of Katherine’s life will be held at a later date.
