Obituary

Peacefully on Sunday, August 7th, 2022 at Ivan Franko Ukrainian Home in her 97th year.  She was reunited with her husband, Alexander (1979) and her son, Paul (1998).  She is survived by her god-daughter, Irene Neill and her daughter-in-law, Kathy. She will be sadly missed by her friends Lydia and Michael Sherlock and Irka Hewko.

Luba was born in Dubno, Ukraine and came to Canada from Germany in 1948 with Alexander and their two-year old son Paul.  They settled in Toronto and then Mississauga.  Luba later returned to Toronto where she resided in her own home until she was 94.

Luba worked at Riverdale Hospital (now Bridgepoint) for thirty plus years in the housekeeping department and retired as Manager of that department.

Luba had many passions throughout her life and enjoyed entertaining family and friends for Ukrainian Christmas Eve and Easter where she prepared and served the traditional dishes.  There were always leftovers for everyone to take home.  As well, anyone who dropped in during the week or weekend to say hi was always welcomed with coffee and a bite to eat.

Luba had a great passion for reading the bible, Ukrainian and English books which she continued to do until the last few days of her life.  She also enjoyed travels to Europe, Egypt and Florida.

We would like to thank the caring staff of the Ivan Franko Home where Luba lived for her last number of years.
