It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our Slavka - beloved sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, godmother and a good friend to many.
Slavka was born in Lyon, France in 1950 and at the age of 2 immigrated with her family to Canada arriving on the shores of Halifax, January 1, 1952 on the ship Anna Salen. The family then boarded a train and settled in Toronto, ON. Here Slavka and family became active members of the Ukrainian community.
Her love of children led her into a career in daycare for many years studying at Humber College, then Mother Craft. After many years, she decided a career switch was in order, joined Costco where she worked for 30 years until her retirement a few years ago.
Slavka will always be known for her unwaivering kindness, love and compassion towards all, especially children and animals.
The family would like to thank the staff, doctors and nurses at St. Joseph's hospital for their kindness and compassionate support towards her.

Beginning July 16, 2021 the Bereavement Authority of Ontario is once again permitting visitations and services to take place that are open to the public. We must continue to maintain physical distancing, the wearing of masks and may not allow more than 40 guests at any one time. Once the maximum limit has been reached, we will ask any additional guests to kindly wait outside in a physically-distanced line until there is room to enter safely.
