Obituary
On October 11, 2023, Gemma Maria Josephine Fischer (nee Gauci) passed away quietly at Toronto Western Hospital. She was 89. Gemma led a remarkable life that spanned three continents and touched many lives. Born June 21, 1934, in the village of Gharghur, Malta, Gemma would travel to Sydney, Australia and marry her now late husband, Max. The couple moved to establish a new life in Toronto, Canada. Gemma worked as a nurse, helping others through the Red Cross, VON and Seniors for Seniors.
Gemma was a devoted mother to five children: Regina (Reggie), David (deceased), Mimi (husband Stephen), Tom and Tammy (husband Thomas). She was a loving grandmother of Chandler, Holden, Harrison, Veronica, Baron and Parish.
Gemma will be remembered for her tireless work ethic, a fondness for bingo and horse races, reading and classic movies. She held a special affection for Malta, Sydney, Las Vegas and Niagara Falls – and above all, an unconditional love for family, direct and extended.
A Catholic mass will be held on Monday, October 23rd.

I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I remember her from many years ago, when I worked at the Bingo. When my nephew was born and called Shayne she told me about a movie she liked name Shane. When I see that movie on the guide I remember your mom telling me that.
