I never had the privilege of knowing Mr. Duong in his prime but I knew him all the same. During his life time he experienced great happiness and unimaginable chaos, yet he kept his family together and helped them escape to a better life.
He lived his life alongside his many children and grandchildren who loved him and cared for him in ways that are becoming all too uncommon. So it is not something to be sad but something to be said that this man had such a loving family watching over him until his quiet passing.
Most of us will live our lives and still never be half the man he was.
I was never able to talk to Mr. Duong but I understood him in ways I can never explain.
