Dear family: Please accept my prayers and sympathies on the passing of your brother and my dear friend Most Rev. Bishop Roman Danylak. I first met Fr. Roman in the seminary in 1964 in Rome, and we became very good friends for the next six years. Later I visited him often when he was at St. Josaphat's Cathedral, and at his consecration when he became bishop. Bishop Roman was a man of principle, deep faith and love of his Ukrainian Catholic Church and people. May God grant him eternal rest, where there is no pain nor sorrow. Sorry I will not be able to be at the funeral services, but will offer Liturgy on the day of his funeral October 11th. His passing is indeed a loss for our Ukrainian Catholic Church. Rt. Rev. Msgr. Mitrat Michael Buyachok - Winnipeg.

My deepest sympathies and prayers on the death of Bishop Roman. He was a very gentle, giving man deeply in love with his God and the Mother of God. May they receive him with open arms and heart into the Kingdom of the just. Since I now reside in New Westminster BC I cannot attend the funeral in person. I will be there in spirit with prayer.
