Obituary
It is with deep sadness that the family of Dr. David Martin Fraser, age 70, of Toronto, announces his unexpected passing on May 10, 2026, at Toronto Western Hospital. David was born and raised in St. John’s Newfoundland and was known for his giving nature, humorous wit, and brilliant mind. Throughout his lifetime while practising psychiatry and in retirement, he generously and tirelessly worked with over a dozen charitable organizations in supporting vulnerable persons. David loved life, collecting and appreciating fine wines, enjoying cooking, entertaining, and playing the saxophone and spoons. Always a kind man, in his lifetime David believed in and adhered to Jiminy Cricket’s motto “Let your conscience be your guide”. David met his wife, Marilyn Joan Gurevsky at the College Street United Church in 2018 and they married f ive years later. Ever the gentleman, he loved to take her out to The Ritz Carlton if he wasn’t preparing a gourmet meal for her himself. David’s sudden passing has left his family heartbroken. He is survived by his wife Marilyn and will be deeply missed by his mother-in-law, Jacqueline Gurevsky; his brother-in-law, Russell Gurevsky; his sisterin-law, Marie Vieira; and his nephew-in-law, Daniel Gurevsky (Laura). Predeceased by his parents John and Anita Fraser. Our deepest thanks go out to Bona and Marlon Palagud for their help, support, and friendship over the past few years, and the staff at Toronto Western Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to Toronto Western Hospital in honor of David.Visitation
