Obituary

Entered into eternal rest in Toronto on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 in his 81at year.. Beloved husband of Marta, with whom he shared 50 well cherished years. Will be profoundly missed and fondly remembered by son Roman, daughter-in-law Oksana and grandchildren Mark and Anna and by son Zenon, daughter-in-law Natalie and grandchildren Anton and Kalyna, as well as extended family in Canada, the USA and Ukraine. A member of the UofT Engineering Class of 5T3, Eugene joined Fodor Engineering (later Marshall Macklin Monaghan), where he led electrical projects including the lighting of the Expo 67 fairgrounds, city services in Saudi Arabia, Oman and the UAE, as well as Terminal 3 at Pearson Airport. Devoted to bringing the best of his native Ukraine into the life of multicultural Canada, Eugene was a lifelong leader and volunteer with Plast Ukrainian Youth Association, conducting scouting activities and maintaining outdoor facilities enjoyed by thousands of young people since 1948. Visitation and Panachyda at Cardinal Funeral Home, 92 Annette St. at 7:30 p.m. May 19. Funeral Service at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church at 10:15 a.m. May 20, followed by interment at Park Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Plast Fund 21 for leadership training or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
