Obituary
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Ian Joseph MacDonald, who departed from us on May 9, 2024, in Toronto, Ontario. Born on November 16, 1984, in Campbellton, N.B., Ian's presence touched countless lives with his love, laughter, and kindness.
Ian is loved dearly by his family and friends and leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Orla Boxwell, children, Dillon and Poppy, parents, Christopher and Regan, and sisters, along with their partners, niece, and nephews: Sarah (Robert Daley, Malcolm, and Beatrice), Jamie (Marc Savoie, Léo), and Kathleen (Neil Parsons, Elliot).
Also mourning his loss are Orla's parents, Frank and Elizabeth Boxwell, sister Hazel, and family in Ireland, as well as his aunts, uncles, and cousins spread across Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, and Alberta. His circle of close friends in Toronto and beyond are deeply saddened by his departure.
A private memorial gathering will be held in Toronto on May 18th to honor Ian's life and share treasured memories. Further details regarding additional memorial arrangements will be communicated at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that you consider making a donation to a charity of your choice to continue Ian’s spirit of kindness.
