Obituary

CURLOOK, Jennifer (née BURAK) After a long, difficult battle with immobilizing illness our vital, brave and cherished mother passed away November 7, 2016 with family present. Predeceased by precious infant son Michael (1956) and beloved husband Walter (2014), Jennifer was the third of six children born to William and Julia Burak of Toronto. She was predeceased by her three brothers; Daniel, Stan and Bill. Our mother embodied soulfulness and spirit, grace and beauty. In the early 70s she adroitly raised her young family on two continents in four different cities. A life-long world traveller, with Walter, her steadfast companion of 59 years, she continued to explore new cultures and communities around the globe until slowed by illness. Jennifer loved the old forests and mountains of Whistler, English gardens, morning light in Nouméa, finding special sanctuary in the Jardin de Luxembourg (Paris). Accomplished and vivacious, thoughtful and tender, Jennifer is deeply missed by her children today. Jennifer is sadly mourned by daughter Christine (daughters Madeleine and Nicole); son Paul (daughters Eva and Francesca), son Michael (Teresa, son Max) and daughter Andrea (Emile).
